MNSS PGA CHAMPIONS TOUR GOLFER JOHN COOK WINS THE OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE PRO/AM IN TAMPA FLORIDA
The Sports Syndicate’s John Cook earned a victory at the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am, his second this year, with a culmination of smart navigating and playing a sensible course. He was in control until an unforced error on the 72nd hole sent the tournament into a playoff with Jay Don Blake. To respond, Cook piped his drive, then hit a terrific second shot and followed it up with the winning birdie putt. Cook hit the ball well the entire week, hitting 88 percent of the fairways (37 of 42) and 82 percent of the greens in regulation (44 of 54). "Luckily I had a chance and I got to redeem myself and do it from about the same exact spot that I was at before." Read more about John Cook's win online at pgatour.com. Cook carries his momentum from the win into the next Champions Tour event, The Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf.
