MNSS SNOWBOARDERS MARK McMORRIS AND CHAS GULDEMOND 2ND AND 3RD AT US OPEN SLOPESTYLE
The Sports Syndicate’s Mark McMorris and Chas Guldemond clinched 2nd and 3rd in Slopestyle at the 29th Annual US Open of Snowboarding at Stratton, VT this past weekend. While the weather was difficult, the course was in perfect condition. In a final that came down to the second run, Mark had a solid run with a Cab double underflip 900 followed by a backside double cork 1080 off the final two hits. “I just love this event because it was the first pro event I ever made a final in, so to be here for the third year and be standing on the podium means a lot", said the young Canadian. Talking about his stellar year, Mark said, "All of my success this season has been totally unexpected and kind of overwhelming. I'm just trying to stay healthy and safe and enjoy it for what it is.” In typical fashion, Chas flawlessly executed the rail section and nailed his backside double cork 1080 and his cab double cork 1260 off the final hit was enough to secure 3rd with a run that drew applause from his fellow riders. Be on the lookout for Mark and Chas at the US Open at Winter X Games Europe in Tignes, France March 16-18, 2011.
